For various reasons, I have decided that the Tumblr WoW community is not for me. At this point, most of the Tumblogs I enjoyed following have already moved or will be moving shortly and, thus, I am out too. Thank you all for your support and interest over the past couple months.

By the time I finished up the quests around Lakeshire I had most of the Brocade armor set so I took Kittyglitter into the Stockades tonite and got Blodeuyn the last two pieces. It’s a pretty cool little set, eh?

Digital Culture, Play, and Identity: A World of Warcraft Reader

I read this collection of essays some time ago and thought I’d mention it here in case anyone might be interested. I found this book to be quite interesting and well written/researched throughout. The only criticism I’ll mention is that none of the writers seemed to have reached level-cap so the essays don’t really touch on endgame content much if at all. Anyway, topics include (but are not limited to): corporate ideaology, feminism, lore, rp, death/dying and names.

My personal favorite piece was contributed by Jessica Langer and is titled ‘The Familiar and the Foreign: Playing (Post)Colonialism in World of Warcraft.’

I’m working on a roller derby outfit for Kittyglitter.

In addition to being awesome, this RP outfit commemorates my switch back to Feral. I just … can’t get behind Balance and I really really love Feral; honestly, I only ever switch over to Balance when I want to DPS instances. I do this because Balance is super easy to play, basically. But … I decided to hunker down and actually learn the Feral situational rotations. Last night on my final two runs, I got 2nd highest DPS and then top DPS — ungemmed, even. (Whatevs, I am saving for epic flying.)

My IRL friend Luke and his dad joined our Alliance guild. Here is a nice picture of some of us trashing crabs in Westfall.

I have been playing Alliance pretty much exclusively for the past two weeks or so and I have to admit I am really enjoying the break from Horde. I still feel like people on the Alliance side are somewhat more mature and it really is nice not seeing dead people, skulls and spikes all over the place for a change. IDK … I have always loved Archie Comics so I suppose deep down I am probably hard-wired to crave a degree of normalcy in my escapist hobbies.
